Each year, the Divinity School welcomes international students. International students make up 24% of the University community, and come from over 100 countries.

Masters Applicants

International applicants to our Masters programs should hold a US bachelor’s degree or an equivalent international degree, comprising at least sixteen years of primary, secondary, and university education.

PhD Applicants

International applicants must hold a US master’s degree or an international equivalent in a field of inquiry related to their intended study in the Divinity School. The master’s degree should also include significant coursework in the academic study of religion.

Test Scores

International applicants for all programs at the Divinity School must submit scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Testing System (IELTS).
