Religion and the Core

Our Religious Studies undergraduate program will be offering six sections of the year-long Core sequence, “Religion: Cosmos, Conscience, and Community.” In this sequence, students engage with classic texts from around the world, putting those texts into conversation with the ideas of social theory. Eight different professors from across the Divinity School's areas of research will be working together to introduce students to the methods of religious studies and the myriad ways religion operates in societies around the world.
Last year was the first time this sequence was offered; it was so in demand that additional sections are being offered this year. Find out more about this dynamic Core sequence and how it was created.
