Lauren Pond is the Digital Media and Communications Manager for the Martin Marty Center. Lauren is an award-winning documentary artist who uses photography, audio, and other digital storytelling methods to explore and evoke the complexities of religious life. She enjoys collaborating with specialists across disciplines and most recently served as Multimedia Producer of the American Religious Sounds Project, a Luce Foundation-funded research initiative co-directed by scholars at The Ohio State University and Michigan State University. She also has an extensive background in arts administration and has helped curate exhibitions for the Smithsonian Institution and the Columbus Museum of Art, among other venues. In 2017, Lauren published her first monograph, Test of Faith: Signs, Serpents, Salvation, with the support of the Duke Center for Documentary Studies/Honickman First Book Prize in Photography. She earned dual Bachelor’s degrees in journalism and art from Northwestern University in 2009 and a Master’s degree in photography from Ohio University in 2014.
