What's next for you?

I am currently finishing up my dissertation, "Moral Imagination and Conceptual Difference on an Ecologically Damaged Planet." I am also revising an essay on environmentalism and political fracturing for publication and plan to present a paper at the 2023 AAR Annual Meeting on neocolonialism and traditional ecological knowledge I am looking forward to entering the job market with a mixture of excitement and anxiety!

Why study religion?

The academic study of religion is perpetually surprising, thanks partly to its methodological, theoretical, and normative variety. There is always something new and challenging to learn, say, about how different traditions have shaped contemporary affective and political sensibilities, or how disparate peoples are adapting their religious inheritances to our ever-changing world in alarming or inspiring ways. This kind of work can sharpen one's critical and imaginative capacities and so be really empowering.

What's something special, or unique about studying at The Divinity School?

I think I'm supposed to say the "rigor," but it's the thoughtful people and of course Grounds of Being.
