My dissertation examines a prominent theory in American metaphysical religion, Human Energy Field (HEF) theory, particularly in terms of its contributions to affect theory and philosophy of mind.
The Marty Center provides a forum for interdisciplinary discussion, which allows me to work through the anthropological, historical, and philosophical aspects of my project, while also learning from others in these subfields. I plan to translate my work into public-facing scholarship as well, and the ethos of the Marty Center has helped me think through this aspect of my project.
