Leo Walker
Executive Assistant to the Dean
Leo Walker is Executive Assistant to the Dean of the Divinity School at the University of Chicago. He joined the Divinity School in 2024, bringing experience in operations, project management, and event production from work across academic institutions and arts organizations.
As a scholar, Walker explores the intersections of religion, disability, trauma, and performance in stage and digital media. He studied musicology at Western Michigan University and the University of Florida. Trained in vocal and dance performance, his work engages the cultural legacies of the British Empire and the African Diaspora, focusing on how religious frameworks shape interpretations of embodiment and difference. He has contributed to creative and scholarly initiatives through writing, reviewing, and providing research and dramaturgical support to artists and non-profits, including Ad Astra Music Festival, Vancouver Opera, the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra, and the American Musicological Society.
Outside of work, Leo enjoys NPR Tiny Desk Concerts, baking, and making the most of his AMC A-List membership.
