On October 20, Erin Galgay Walsh, Assistant Professor of New Testament and Early Christian Literature, was one of three experts to address guests during "The Pearlsong" book release event held at Harvard Divinity School.
“Whether one has knowledge of any of the languages referenced or not, ‘The Pearlsong’ readily adapts to the reader, inviting further inquiry,” Professor Walsh said.
The book is the first release in a series of four planned volumes that explore pre-modern texts and their scholarly translations. The book itself contains the English translation and the original Syriac text, mirroring each other on its pages. This display of the two languages, along with the additional ancient context provided, makes the book's contents accessible to both the in-depth scholar and the casual reader.
