March 5, 2025
NPR's Scott Simon, host of Weekend Edition, posted on his X account a taped reading from Prof. Martin E. Marty's 1983 book on grief, A Cry of Absence.
"Martin was a member of the clergy, of course, and had specific religious beliefs, but I think these are human and spiritual beliefs as well. So let me just start reading because it gives us something to think about and take solace in," Simon says before reading from the first section of the text.
