Maarav: A Journal for the Study of the Northwest Semitic Languages and Literatures, is now available through the University of Chicago Press.

Beginning in 2023, Maarav will join the journals programs of the University of Chicago Press and the American Society for Overseas Research (ASOR). The journal publishes research on the Northwest Semitic languages, with an emphasis on linguistics, philology, and literary studies. Maarav will join three other ASOR journals published in partnership with the University of Chicago Press: the Bulletin of ASOR, the Journal of Cuneiform Studies, and Near Eastern Archaeology

Simeon Chavel, Associate Professor of Hebrew Bible; Associate Faculty in the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations and in the Center for Middle Eastern Studies; also in the College, is the editor of this journal. Read more about Maarav at the Maarav site.
