What are you looking forward to in your role as Executive Assistant to the Dean?

I am really excited to be back in a university setting around people taking big steps and making huge accomplishments in their lives. I also love organizing events and meeting new people, so I am thrilled that I will have the opportunity to do both those things in my position.

What do you enjoy about living and working in Hyde Park/Chicago?

I used to live in Hyde Park but ended up moving to the south side, so it feels nice to come back to a neighborhood that has always been familiar to me. In addition, I’ve always enjoyed attending the African Fair at the DuSable Museum of African American History—they sell amazing earrings there—as well as partaking in festivals around Hyde Park in the summertime.

What do you like to do outside of your work in the Divinity School?

Similar to what I enjoy doing in my role at the Divinity School, I love preparing for and hosting small gatherings with friends.

Anything else you’d like to share?

I am the mother of two wonderful, adult children. And, one of my most rewarding successful challenge was caring for my elderly family members.  I found advocating on their behalf to ensure they got the services they needed to thrive to be the highlight of my life.  It was really meaningful and gratifying work!  It was a difficult undertaking, but I’d do it for them again.
