Jonathan Z. Smith, the Robert O. Anderson Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus of the Humanities, has been awarded a Wilbur Cross Medal, the highest honor conferred by Yale University's Graduate School and the Graduate School Alumni Association. Professor Smith received his PhD from Yale, in Religious Studies, in 1969.
