Join us May 5th from 3-4pm at Swift Hall Room 403 for a conversation with Prof. Mayra Rivera around her latest work, Poetics of the Flesh.   
The newly elected class of members of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences includes five UChicago faculty members, including the Divinity School's Michael Sells.
Alain de Libéra, Professor of the History of Medieval Philosophy at the Collège de France, will deliver two public lectures this April. Please note there will be meet and greet time half an hour before each lecture. 
The 2016 Alumnus of the Year Lecture will be delivered on Thursday, April 21 by Peter Iver Kaufman, (MA 1973, PhD 1975, History of Christianity).   Prof. Kaufman's lecture is entitled  “Giorgio Agamben, Meet Augustine (With an Extended Introduction to Augustine’s Statesmen).”
Maurizio Bettini,  Professor of Greek and Latin Philology at the University of Siena, Italy, will give a public lecture on Monday, April 18th: "From market to metamorphosis: Cultural images of 'translation' in Rome.”  The lecture will be at 4:30pm in Swift Common Room.     
Ryan Coyne, Assistant Professor of the Philosophy of Religions and Theology, has received a 2016 Manfred Lautenschlaeger Award for Theological Promise.  
Join us Tuesday,  April 5, 4:30 pm in our Common Room, for a public lecture by John Cottingham, "Transcending science: humane models of religious understanding."
