Cynthia Lindner

Cynthia Lindner received her training in the Divinity School's Doctor of Ministry program with emphases in biblical studies, ethics, and psychological studies. She has worked as a parish pastor, hospice chaplain, and pastoral psychotherapist for over twenty years. Teaching and research interests include questions of contemporary ministerial identity and formation, the ethics of preaching and pastoral care in multicultural society, the interface of corporate worship and public witness in congregational life, the moral development of adolescents, and the religious and ethical dimensions of family policy. Rev. Lindner is also associate staff at the Center for Religion and Psychotherapy of Chicago. She is the principal investigator for the Divinity School's "Border Crossing: Collaborative Theological Reflection for Ministry" Lilly Endowment project, and is a clergy learning group facilitator for the Fund for Theological Education's 'Calling Congregations' project.
