Peter CasarellaVisiting Professor of Theology M.A., Ph.D. (Yale University) Peter Casarella's areas of specialization include theological anthropology, eschatology, medieval theology (including St. Bonaventure and Nicholas of Cusa), the thought of Hans Urs von Balthasar, and Hispanic/Latino theology. He has edited or coedited volumes: Christian Spirituality and the Culture of Modernity: The Thought of Louis Dupré (Eerdmans, 1998), Cuerpo de Cristo: The Hispanic Presence in the U.S. Catholic Church (Crossroad, 1998), and Cusanus: The Legacy of Learned Ignorance (Catholic University Press, 2007) and published research articles in The Thomist, Communio: International Catholic Review, Philosophy and Theology, Journal of Hispanic/Latino Theology, Renascence, and Mitteilungen und Forschungsbeiträge der Cusanus-Gesellschaft. He serves as Vice-President of the American Cusanus Society and is former president of the Academy of Catholic Hispanic Theologians in the United States (ACHTUS). His current research projects include a book with the working title "Von Balthasar: The Centrifugal Politics of Culture." After serving for fourteen years in the School of Theology and Religious Studies at The Catholic University of America, he is currently full Professor of Catholic Studies at DePaul University. |
