stelzerStelzer selected as Management Fellow

Ryan Stelzer, A.M. 2012, has been selected as a Presidential Management Fellow.

Ryan will be working as a management analyst for Fred Hochberg, President Obama's appointee as Chairman of the Export-Import Bank. His job will be to work alongside the Chairman in his efforts to reach the President's goal of doubling United States exports, thus further securing over 300,000 US jobs.

Ryan will move to Washington DC the day after Convocation, and begin his new position the day after that. Ryan says "The interdisciplinary education I have received over the past two years from The Divinity School has made such an opportunity as the PMF possible, and will undoubtedly open more doors in the future. The relationships I have forged across the university with professors and students alike mean so much, that despite the beautiful campus and tremendous education Chicago has to offer, it will be the people that I miss most, as they are the ones who bring Chicago's strong sense of community to life."

Ryan, a native of Westfield, Massachusetts, studied at Boston University and the University of Cambridge in the UK. While at the Divinity School his focus was social and political ethics; he was also a member of the University's Consulting Club.

The Presidential Management Fellowship is a highly selective and rigorous Leadership program that recruits outstanding graduate students for a two-year developmental fellowship at various Federal Agencies. Established In 1977, the Presidential Management Fellows programs attracts students from a wide variety of academic disciplines to public service.
